Integration boundaries

Good integration includes boundaries, confidentiality and referral

Questions that help distinguish reflective integration support from clinical treatment, directive interpretation or unsafe dependence.

From Healing Rituals · Published

Integration should increase your agency

Integration can help organize feelings and choices after an experience, but the guide should not become the unquestioned authority on what the experience “really meant.”

What the ethics literature emphasizes

Pilecki and colleagues discuss competence, informed consent, boundaries, legality and harm reduction in psychedelic integration work. Read the paper. It is not an efficacy trial and does not authorize activity outside a provider’s training or local law.

Notice dependency and certainty as warning signs

Expect clear confidentiality limits, fees, communication boundaries and scope. Be cautious when a provider claims exclusive spiritual knowledge, discourages outside care or encourages repeated experiences to maintain connection with them.

Referral is part of responsible support

Responsible support includes referral for persistent insomnia, suicidality, mania, psychosis, severe anxiety or impaired functioning. Healing Rituals does not provide dosing instructions. Continue with integration beyond interpretation, research expectancy, or scope and support.
